To celebrate the end of July, our Dear Leader posted an
early morning rant on Truth Social, his version of X. He was really worked up
about lame-duck Senator John Cornyn’s opposition to the “Fund.” It’s a
billion-dollar slush fund that the administration can hand out to the “American Patriots” who stormed the Capitol on
January 6th. We have all seen the videos. Pictures of men in camo
harming police, seeking the Vice President so they could hang him, desecrating
the inside of the citadel of democracy. We all saw what those evil people did
at the boss’s encouragement.
He wrote. “They are suffering still, many ruined, and I felt that they should be given compensation for what has been done to them. I gave up any payment to myself, which would have been substantial…” [i]
He said that the ruffians were victims of abuse. They were not. They were the ones who abused. Just ask the police officers who tried to protect the Capitol.
He said their lives have been ruined. Hopefully, most of them either pleaded guilty or were convicted of storming the domed edifice, attacking police, crashing barriers and windows, ravaging the offices, and trying to stop the counting of Presidential ballots. For that, their lives should be ruined. They should be in prison.
On his first days in office for his second and last term, he pardoned nearly every participant in that effort to overthrow the government. Fifteen hundred of them. On the first day. Now he wants to pay them for their trouble.
The first day of the second term should have been a lesson for us, but few believed it could get worse. It is worse. It gets worse by the day. On August 1st, he announced that he wanted to bring back The Fund because, as he said: “Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation’s history.”
In truth, there has never been a group of people who treated the nation so badly in our Nation’s history since the Civil War. They deserve lives ruined, lives incarcerated. They owe us; we don’t owe them.
